Reports from the local media said two suspects have been arrested in the central district of Milange, where the killings occurred.
Another spokesman for the police, Inacio Dina who confirmed the same said the victims were above 40 years while their assailants are about 20 years old.
Speaking to AFP, Dina said:
“Last month, the murders of two bald people led to the arrest of two suspects.
“Their motivations come from superstition and culture: the local community thinks bald individuals are rich.
“One of them was found with his head cut off and his organs removed.”
A further statement from the police revealed that the suspects arrested are two Mozambicans about 20 years old who confessed the organs were to be used by healers in rituals to promote the fortunes of clients in Tanzania and Malawi.
The incident is said to be the first time that bald people have been victims of such attacks in the region, but similar to the persecution of people with albinism in Malawi, Burundi and Tanzania.
Based on the belief that certain body parts of albinistic people can transmit magical powers, witch doctors and others have been brainwashing their followers with misconceived ideas about the promise of wealth, success and power when albino hair or limbs are used in a potion as part of witchcraft practices.

According to the UN, more than a hundred attacks against albinos have been registered in Mozambique since 2014, mainly in the centre and the north of the country.
