Nigeria Vs Togo – Nigeria’s Super Eagles Dominate The Hawks Of Togo

The Nigeria vs Togo international friendly match ended victoriously for the Eagles. The match which took place in Paris at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret; saw the Super Eagles of Nigeria run-down the Hawks of Togo 3 – 0 in what was seen as an exceptional performance from Gernot Rohr’s side.

The international friendly match; took place on Thursday night and saw goals from Ahmed Musa and Kelechi Ihenacho. The goals which were scored in the first half of the game were enough to seal the deal for the Nigerian side.

The Leicester City forward who played just seven (7) games for his club in the just concluded Premier League season was on target scoring with an easy tap-in. West Ham bound Kelechi Ihenacho scored the last goal to dampen the Hawks of Togo’s luck of getting back into the game.

Though the Super Eagles were without John Mikel Obi, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and Carl Ikeme in their lineup, Gernot Rohr still made it work. The German-born manager and former footballer Gernot Rohr was forced to name a very unusual and experimental side for the tie.

In just 18 minutes the Eagles were up 2-0!!! , Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi provided the assist for Musa’s opener in the first 2 minutes when Togo’s Fatao Alhassani Dida failed to clear his cross properly and was punished by the Leicester’s City forward.

Iwobi was again on hand to provide another assist, helping Musa double his goal tally to 2 for the night and put his side 2 goals up.

It was a night to forget for the Hawks when Kelechi ihenacho sealed the deal and scored the side’s third goal of the game from an Oghenekaro Etebo’s assist facing an unguarded net.

The match was pretty settled in the first half of the game as the Super Eagles prepare towards their World Cup qualification clash against African Champions Cameroon as this promises to be a game we all look forward to.
