ANC Sex-For-Jobs Officials Get Promotion Rewards, UDM Wails
The United Democratic Movement (UDM) is depressed by the promotion reward handed to ANC sex-for-job officials.
In a media statement, UDM secretary general, Bongani Msomi related that the party is shocked to learn that the ANC sex-for-job officials have been rewarded with senior posts in another department.
The ANC officials are two senior managers at the Eastern Cape Legislature. They were implicated in a sex-for-jobs and jobs-for-pals scandal.

Malibongwe Ngcai, the Integrated human resources management general manager and Basil Mase, the monitoring and evaluation general manager were named in the 2015 scandal.
Ngcai and Mase were suspended in 2016 after they dragged the Eastern Cape legislature and the body that investigated the scandal (Neela Hoosain Commission) to court.
The ANC officials wanted the court to stop the commission’s findings from being made public. But, the court dismissed their application and they have been on suspension since then.
Nonetheless, it emerged earlier this month that Ngcai and Mase reported for duty at the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta).
Dispatch Live reported that Ngcai was appointed the general manager of corporate services and Mase, the general manager of strategic information management.

Confirming this, UDM stated thus:
“Human Resources Management head Malibongwe Ngcai and strategic manager Basil Mase are now heading Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs.
This is a farce and it is saddening that corrupt officials are rewarded for their misdeeds.
It is unfortunate that the ruling party does not realise the negative impact cadre deployment has on the nation.
No one even wonders why the officials who are high up in hierarchy are implicated in such acts.”
Afterwards, UDM wailed that the looting of the state resources in South Africa is continuing unabated. “…No wonder the country has been degraded to a junk status,” the party added.
