The Billionaire Kidnapper Who Is Worth More Than N5billion
The recently arrested notorious kidnapper, Chukwudubem Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans has been described as worth over N5 billion.
Evans, who was said to have masterminded major kidnapping operations in Lagos, Anambra and Edo was arrested by the IRT on Saturday, June 10th 2017 in his lavishly furnished home in highbrow Magodo Estate in Lagos State which is just one of his many luxurious properties.
The kidnap kingpin reportedly owns two 2 Mansions in the Magodo GRA Phase 2 worth more than two hundred million naira (N200,000,000), as well as two (2) houses in highbrow areas of Accra City in Ghana. He also has many other properties such as exotic cars, expensive watches, pieces of jewellery e.t.c.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, who is the Team Leader of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team disclosed that the two Magodo Estate mansions owned by Evans has their cost purchase estimated at N200 million. According to the notorious kidnapper, one of the Magodo houses was bought for N130 million and the other for N70 million.
Kyari further disclosed that Evans who has been buying properties in Nigeria and Ghana since 2008, uses the names of his wife and children to purchase the properties.
Evans allegedly owns a house in the Igando area of Lagos State and two four-bedroom duplexes in Ghana. Investigators reveal that the kidnap kingpin who has about seven different gangs working for him, invested his kidnapping proceeds into real estate. “Each gang has a different phone, which he used to communicate with them,” Kyari said.
More so, Evans is said to have 11 expensive mobile phones and has confessed to the police that three of the phones were bought for $6,000 each.

The gangster who has been wanted by the Police since 2008 commenced life in the underworld as a ruthless highway robber before transmuting into a full-fledged kidnapper, where he grew into one of the biggest kidnap kingpins. It is, therefore, no surprise that his arrest threw both security operatives and residents of Lagos into wild jubilation.
Shortly after Evans was arrested by officers of the Nigerian Police Force, the notorious kidnapper has reportedly started spilling names of his high-profile accomplices.
Insider sources reveal that investigators working on the case have already been dispatched to locations outside Lagos, including Edo, Umuahia, Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi in search of the named accomplices, while efforts are underway to find other properties owned by Evans.
Moreover, investigations reveal that security has also been beefed up around the notorious criminal, following reports that his high-profile accomplices were planning to silence him, in order to prevent him from spilling information about them to the police.
Evans and his kidnapping syndicate carried out sophisticated operations where they demanded ransom payments in millions of naira and dollars. They had bank and address data of the biggest business moguls in the society and seemed like they kidnapped just because they could.

Although the notorious kidnapper’s successful arrest is quite commendable and calls for jubilation, the big question remains; Is Evans the main kidnap kingpin who has been pulling the strings behind the scenes or just the sacrificial lamb of a larger, more calculated and intricate kidnap syndicate run by godfathers?
