Bonang Mohale Appointed New CEO Of Business Leadership SA
The current deputy chairman of Business Leadership SA Bonang Mohale has been appointed as the new CEO of Business Leadership South Africa (BLSA).
He replaces his boss Thero Setiloane, whose term expired in December 2016. His appointment will be effective from 1 July 2017.

Mohale’s former position (deputy chairman) will now be occupied by Hollard Insurance chairman Adrian Enthoven.
In his speech, BLSA chairman Jabu Mabuza expressed delight with Mohale’s new position.
He added: The board of BLSA is delighted that someone of Bonang Mohale’s caliber and immense leadership ability has agreed to steer the organization through the most challenging environment the organization has faced since 1994.”
In his acceptance speech, Bonang Mohale thanked the organization for finding him worthy to lead them. He iterated that his main focus will be to re-assert business as the solution as well as help combat state capture.
He said: “It will be an honor for me to marshal the resources and capabilities of business to create a South Africa that works for all. In the next 12 months, my focus will be to re-assert the business as the solution and not the enemy because when the business does well‚ society does well.
I will also help combat state capture‚ work with labor and government to get the economy out of this recession and going again‚ create jobs and accelerate transformation. I plan to reposition business as a trusted advisor‚ partner of choice and doing everything possible to make Government a capable state.”
Born on November 22, 1961, in Benoni, South Africa, Mohale is currently the Chairman and Vice President of Shell South Africa Energy Limited, where he is Chairman of the boards of Shell South Africa Holdings Limited, Shell South Africa Energy Limited, Shell South Africa Marketing Limited and Shell South Africa Refinery Limited. He also serves on the board of numerous South African companies.
Mr. Mohale was awarded the BMF Manager of The Year in 1997. He also received the Presidential Award for his ‘Servanthood in South African Industry & the Economic Empowerment of Previously Disadvantaged Individuals’ in November 2001.
