Movies Of The Week – Wonder Woman Smashes World Record
At No.1 on Movies Of The Week is; Wonder Woman. The movie smashed records following its opening, earning $103 million at the North American Box Office; the biggest debut for a female director, industry figures showed on Monday.

The movie also recorded a whopping $223 million worldwide as confirmed by the studio.

Second in the Box Office was another release “Captain Underpants,” which recorded $23.9 million, according to Exhibitor Relations.
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales
In third place was Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” This is the fifth franchise starring Johnny Deep as Captain Jack Sparrow. This grossed $22.1 million.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
Fourth is another Walt Disney production “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2,” starring Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Vin Diesel; grossed at $9.7 million domestically since it opened in May 5.
Placed in fifth place is “Baywatch” a Paramount Production starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron in a story about deeply and ridiculously fit California lifeguards who uncover a murky criminal plot, it recorded $ 8.7 million.
Completing the list of the top ten movies of the week are;
- Alien Covenant ($4.1 million)
- Everything, Everything ($3.3 million)
- Snatched ($1.3 million)
- Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul ($1.3 million)
- King Arthur: Legend of the Sword ($1.2 million)
Seriously wondering where The Fate of the Furious, and The Return of Xander Cage (XXX) ended up because; the trailers and the hype around it were really loud, (even though I am a Vin Diesel fan, lol), we’ll just have to wait and see what the numbers for movies of the week would look like.
