Kagiso Rabada Emerges The Best In The World

While we are all getting set for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy, Kagiso Rabada ensured South Africa will be the team with the best bowler at the tournament.

The latest ODI bowling rankings in MRF Tyres ICC ranked Rabada the best bowler in the world. He moved up four places to take the top spot.

Rabada’s haul of 4 for 39 in the last match of the three-match series against England didn’t only help him finish the series with seven wickets. It also ensured his emergence as the youngest number-one bowler since Pakistan’s Saqlain Mushtaq in 1998.

As it is now in the ODI bowling rankings, Rabada is leading Imran Tahir with two points.

Apart from having the top two blowers of the world, South Africa’s captain AB de Villiers was named the best batsman.

The country now has four players in the top 10 of the MRF Tyres ICC Player Rankings for ODI Batsmen.

Other players aside De Villiers who’s occupying the top spot include Quinton de Kock (fourth), Faf du Plessis (sixth) and Hashim Amla (10th).

Meanwhile, the top five ODI teams are close to each other with South Africa (122), Australia (118), India (117), New Zealand (114) and England (112).
