Gunmen Open Fire In Munich Killing 6, Others Wounded
Three gunmen, on Friday evening, opened fire at and near a shopping mall in the German city of Munich, killing several people.
According to police reports, authorities believe the shooting at the Olympia shopping mall “looks like a terror attack.”
German police department said a shooting had occurred at a McDonald’s across from the mall around 5:50 p.m. GMT (11:50 a.m. ET).

Witnesses reported that they heard serious gunfire inside the mall.
According to Munich police, eight people have been confirmed dead and an unknown number of people were injured in the attack.

Reports say that there is a massive police operation at a second site in the center of the city.
On Facebook, police said gunfire was reported in several locations, and that witnesses report seeing three different people with firearms.
Munich police said,
“The manhunt is underway at high speed.
“Because of the unclear situation we ask all people in the city area to stay at home or to look for protection in any nearby building.
“The operation of public transportation service has been stopped.”
The location of the shooting, the Olympia mall, located in a middle-class neighborhood in northern Munich, is the city’s biggest shopping center.

German lawmaker, Charles Huber told the CNN that the building is located near a large BMW factory and is a popular destination for shoppers on Friday nights.
The mall is also near a major transit hub in the city of Munich.
The shooting at the Olympia Mall in Munich comes as recent terror attacks have put Europe on high alert.
Last week, a speeding truck plowed into a crowd of Bastille Day revelers in the French city of Nice, killing more than 80 people.
This week, a teenager who said he was inspired by ISIS stabbed passengers on a German train before he was shot dead by the police.
